"Delayed Diagnosis/Wrong treatment given TWICE!!!!"

About: Salford Royal / Clinical haematology

My sister was first treated at this hospital 8 years ago when she was diagnosed with NHL.

Her diagnosis was delayed due to the Consultant dealing with her care not filling out requests and ordering tests in a timely manner.

Complained to CEO and got formal apology and told that lessons would be learnt.

Fast forward 8 years and my sister was diagnosed again in June with NHL (should have been January but the scan was not looked at in time - AGAIN) and has now been told that the chemotherapy she was started on she should never have been given due to her underlying conditions and is now suffering from problems related to non response to treatment (she was due a staging CT scan a month ago but nobody bothered to order this AGAIN).

Final outcome still awaited on whether further treatment is an option.

Appallingly shocking service once again by a so called Teaching Hospital.

Lessons learnt?

The only lesson here is NEVER to go to Salford Royal if you want good patient care.
