"Early pregnancy unit and Antenatal appointments"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

Went to the Early pregnancy unit as I had 2 private scans showing a missed miscarriage. The consultant refused to acknowledge the scans because they were private and they said they are not sure of the private's consultant skills. The consultant had another scan, showing the pregnancy was behind 3 weeks, not viable, no heartbeat. She said I need to wait another week for another scan and sent me home, but told me that I might start miscarrying naturally. After that week and their second scan, they would have provided me with options for what they already saw the same day. Their bureaucracy was above the patient care, just to have 2 NHS scans/visits on their file at 7 days apart, to confirm what she already saw on the private scans and her own scan.

Women go in a shocked state and vulnerable to see the Unit, after getting awful news, they don't want to be sent home as they came or even more scarred as they are forced into a decision they don't want.

Hopefully, I was able to get the care I needed elsewhere, where the private scans were accepted without issues and offered medication or surgery.

After all, when I used their online form to cancel the antenatal appointments, they didn't do it, they continued to send me SMS for the appointment. When I called I had to tell them again I had a miscarriage. What's the point of an online system if they don't use it, also why didn't the Early pregnancy unit communicate with the Antenatal one to inform them of the miscarriage?
