Moved at 3am in the morning with no consultation when asking why I was being moved I was met with a crossed armed nurse telling me what’s the problem. I explained that it is the middle of the night and the first few hours that I have managed to breathe, that I was promised that a doctor would see me today but that was not forthcoming the last information I had was that there could be a serious issue ( as per there ct scan ) with my lungs as I had just had a lobectomy 4 weeks ago at the BRI and had since deteriorated in my capacity to breathe. As you can imagine being woken in the middle of the night told your moving to surgical ward with no explanation no doctor and met with a nurse that appeared to want confrontation rather than supplying simple information regarding my move, you can only imagine my distress as just trying to talk was difficult and I don’t think required any confrontation just some simple information and possibly some reassurance. I am now in a room but it has no toilet and I need to walk down the corridor to reach it. The room is freezing cold as it has an air con unit which I am told is independent to the rest of the ward so cannot be turned down my face and nose are extremely cold. Have not now been able to sleep.
Just before I was moved I did ask the nurse who said I should be moved and the nurse was reluctant but at this point I insisted and was told it was an administrator. I would still like a name Southmead hospital of the person that made this decision and what medical advice they had because no doctor has spoken to me in the last 24 hours.
I have to add that up until now my care the nurses and staff had all been kind caring and informative so it was a shock to be treated in such a brutal off hand manner
