On visiting a relative in ward 208 at ARI over the weekend we met the most amazing nurse, who on seeing my 6 year old daughters interest in what he was doing whilst taking her great uncles observations, went above and beyond to talk her through what he was doing at each stage and teaching her about the body and it’s functions. He was just fabulous with her. They discussed blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and body temperature. She is most impressed with the new learned skill - being able to feel her own heart working through the pulse in her wrist and left the hospital absolutely beaming with joy! It really did make her year, and now wants to be a nurse like him.
We were all just blown away by his kindness and would like to make sure this gentleman receives the thanks he deserves. Although we did not get the nurses name, he did mention that he normally worked in surgical high dependency but was helping in Ward 208 that night.
"Amazing nurse"
