About: Barnet Hospital

My daughter was referred by her GP to the unit and the appointment came through within a week.

As my older daughter had been diagnosed with breast cancer and subsequently had surgery and a reconstruction at another hospital, we were both very anxious.

My daughter was able to have an ultrasound and a mammogram and see the doctor to be given her results the same day.

I am so grateful for this service.

Her appointment time was 9.45 and we were driving away at 1.10.

The only reason I scored less for staff satisfaction was because the receptionist at the imaging department could do with a bit more customer care training. I always made sure that people working a customer based service engaged rather than look at a computer screen and she was very morose. At a time when people are feeling vulnerable this is very important. The lady who took people to the other imaging areas however was very helpful and polite.

Thank you for sharing the experience of your daughter and you.

We try hard to make sure patients have their results the same day as we know how anxious it an be.

I am sorry the receptionist was spending more time on the computer than dealing sensitively with you both.
