This hospital has left me, frankly, dissatisfied. My father was on gate 44 quite recently because of intestinal bleeding, due to end stage NAFLD. Firstly, he was extremely ill and rarely a doctor came to see him. They just ordered meds and din't really consult with their patient. Secondly, every visit I always saw dirty sheets and usually there was an issue regarding the cleanliness of the ward. I always saw nurses on the ward and he was often disregarded. Finally, he was often ignored, for example, he requested for an insulin cartridge (he has type 2 diabetes that is treated using insulin) and he had to wait around an hour: he may have had a hypo and no one would have cared to be honest.
The reason for this heading is because of the amazing treatment he has received at Kings College London while having a liver transplant. Yes, the building is old, but he and my mother had told me how lovely they have been while in their hepatobiliary ward. Their treatment has left me with hope for the NHS.
