"Call to 111"

About: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as the patient),

I experienced chest pains at work and I knew my BP was raised despite being on medication.

I rang 111 to help me decide if to go to my GP urgent care clinic or to the Hospital which is close to where I work.

The call handler was very calm, listened carefully to what I said and by asking some questions established that the situation was more serious than I realised. She was careful to re-assure me that there were no wrong or right answers. She advised me to alert colleagues to the situation while she dispatched an Ambulance
