"Taken to A&E by ambulance"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / Accident and emergency

Last week I was in the unfortunate position to have to dial 999 as I have COPD and had great difficulty breathing and extremely high blood pressure (212).

The ambulance personnel were excellent and A&E were expecting me when we arrived at QEQM.

Although A&E was totally full with patients on stretchers and we could barely get through the door, the attention and care I received from all health care professionals was prompt and polite.

I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the various care I received (vitals, blood tests, chest xray, foot xrays, ct scan, etc etc).

I was monitored overnight and discharged next morning with medication.

My only complaint is that I did not receive the result of my foot xrays and can only assume it was only bruised (which it still is).

Thank you very much QEQM.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent attendance to A&E.

We hope you are feeling better now.

We will ensure your kind words are passed on to the A&E department.

If you have still not received your results for your x-ray, then please, contact the PALS team on 01227 783145 or email ekh-tr.pals@nhs.net who will be able to help.
