"Breastfeeding group"

About: North Middlesex Hospital / Maternity care

I was told about a breastfeeding group at Bruce Castle on Thursdays and although I am not yet breastfeeding I was very welcome.

I met some very lovely people who were so supportive and open to speaking about all the ups and downs of pregnancy to birth and life with baby. The group was run very well by a member of staff and she is very open to all new ideas for the health of baby and mum. Cannot wait to go again.

Dear Stephanie

Thank you so much for your kind comment. Our breastfeeding support clinics are run by Jane Hally and Teresa Faulkner, who are passionate about supporting mothers in the feeding choices they make. They are working with local Breastfeeding Network peer supporters in creating more opportunities for mothers and their families to get advice and support with breastfeeding in order for women to exclusively feed their babies for longer, up to the recommended 6 months by the Department of Health. I’m so pleased that you have found this group helpful and that meeting other families and building relationships that support you in these early days has been one of the outcomes. Kind regards, Shereen Nimmo, Head of Midwifery and Gynaecology.

Kind Regards

Shereen Nimmo
