"First visit to Leicester General ever!"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Gynaecology

I went for an appointment at Leicester General Gynaecology Dept on Thursday the 6 September 2019.

It was my first time there and had to use a Sat Nav to get there.

I live in Hinckley and did have the choice of the George Eliot Hospital too.

Having had a few bad experiences of the George Eliot in previous times, I thought I would try Leicester General as it was also a choice given to me....even thought it is around 20 miles from where I live.

Well, I have to say, it was an absolute pleasure to go there.

The hospital is HUGE but I was not put off.

I must have looked lost a couple of times....which I was....but a porter and I assume an admin type person came up to and asked me if I was ok.

Told them I was lost on each occasion and each of them gave me directions.

I didnt need to ask.

Infact, the porter walked with me to ward 11.

Got to the ward and the receptionist was lovely.

Very professional and not at all "snotty" like some receptionists!

She advised I needed to go to x-ray and have my scan.

Off I went to get my scan.

Absolutely lovely people in there.

Made me feel at ease and were just a delight.

Finished my scan and went back up to ward 11.

The Gynaecologist was sooooo lovely as were the nurses in the room.

The Gynaecologist really put my mind at ease.

I shared a joke and had a giggle with all of them.

I have to say, my visit to the Leicester General was an AMAZING experience!!!

My only negative was the parking charges! £1.70 per hour!

I do feel parking charges in all hospitals are pretty severe.

Not sure how or if anything can be done about them but it did not taint my visit to the hospital.
