My father has cognitive problems due to infections. The hospital were trying to sort carers or rehab before he went home.
But a week later he was discharged cause he told them he did not need any.
He was sent home with tablets and leg catheter.
He had no extra bags or even the night bag for the catheter.
I told the discharge nurse that he won’t be able to remember to take tablets let alone to sort catheter. She just shrugged her shoulders . I don’t live near my father and on visiting him today I notice he is forgetting to drain catheter and forgetting to take tablets. Surely the hospital should take into consideration of his confused state that discharging him was not the right thing to do. I now feel alone upset and angry at the lack of support I have received. Let alone how he is to cope.
