"Ganz/RPAO surgery"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d)

(as the patient),

I was admitted for elective surgery on my hip and from start to finish the care has been amazing. I cannot fault the staff from domestics, HCSW, nurses and doctors, they were all very helpful and caring.

I must thank Jullian (HDU1) for being fabulous during my period of respiratory depression following my newly discovered sensitivites to opiates, your calm nature helped my mother. Tony the HCSW (HDU1) for the numerous ice packs that actually became.mt best friends during my stay... You probably also saved me a lot of bruising.

Rebecca on ward 10A was also lovely checking in on me and discharging me home. There are so many amazing staff that I can't thank as I cannot remember your names.

Despite the bad press NHS staff always get I just feel I had to thank you all and say never let anyone make you think you are not anything other than stars!

Dear AngelMW12

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to put these lovely comments on Care Opinion following your recent hip surgery for which I hope you have recovered well.

It sounds as though your experience was positive despite having sensitivity to opiates, which was effectively dealt with by Jillian also in providing reassurance for your mother and the frequent ice packs that Tony provided for you, it is these small things that can make all the difference, and I am so glad for you that it did.

It is always very satisfying and gratifying to receive such positive feedback for all members of the team involved in your care. Please be assured that I shall pass on your kind comments to all staff including Rebecca for assisting you on your discharge home.

Wishing you a continued good recovery.

Best Wishes

Sheila
