"My Minor Op Experience"

About: Nuffield Health, Shrewsbury Hospital

I attended this hospital for an inguinal hernia repair as an NHS patient. From the first conversation with the receptionist, through a pre-op assessment with the nursing team, then a meeting with the consultant, then to the day of the operation itself I was treated in a most exemplary fashion, with politeness and kindness throughout. The facilities are excellent and the cleanliness of my room was faultless. The actual operation went without a hitch and I was back home by teatime with virtually no discomfort. Advice on pain control has been followed and I am now 3 days post op feeling great, the hernia now reduced. If I was to nit-pick anything it would be the length of the beds, which were slightly on the short side for my 6'4" frame!
