I attended A&E following a workshop injury to my left hand, arm and mouth. I was bleeding profusely due to medication I take. I was in pain.
I saw the Triage Nurse, who was very helpful. I saw a Doctor in A@E who treated the wounds on my arm and face. I then saw the Nurse again for a Tetanus injection and to give information should I require an overnight stay to have the wound on my hand stitched.
I then saw two Doctors from the Orthopedic Department, one of whom made an excellent job of stitching my finger. She then arranged for me to have and xray and an appointment for the next day. As I had been at SMH for round 9 hours by then and was feeling slightly "woosey" the kind receptionist in A@E gave me a biscuit and cup of tea until my wife could collect me.
Follow up appointments over the next couple of weeks in the Orthopedic Clinic were dealt with by kind and helpful staff. I can't praise them enough
