After a failed induction at 39 weeks, which was required due to gestational diabetes, we opted for a C-section after receiving detailed information on this type of birth in comparison with trying the induction process again.
Taking this information into consideration along with the concerns we had about delaying the process further when the baby was at greater risk due to the gestational diabetes, we advised Dr Arnot of our decision to proceed with a C-section rather than trying the induction process again.
Dr Arnot was very understanding of our decision and was able to accommodate this a lot sooner than we had expected. We would like to thank Dr Arnot for his help throughout the time that I was in the hospital and for the safe arrival of our baby boy via C-section.
The theatre team were excellent and kept us informed throughout the process and helped make it a more relaxing environment. The care received throughout my time at St John’s hospital in Livingston has been of a very high standard and we would therefore like to highlight how thankful we are to Dr Arnot and the midwifes and nurses who looked after me.
