This is quiet hard for me to be honest as I have never had to do this before I don't actually write reviews etc however i feel obliged and torn in a way because the reception staff are fantastic and can't do enough for you and are always pleasant and have smiles on their faces however my issue is with a certain doctor who i have only seen a few times because the doctor I use to have shes now left and as i have only been here for over a year I am now under this doctor who is quiet dismissive and made me feel a little insulted by I have really bad anxiety and suffer from bad panic attacks and when I am in states of having really bad insomnia which affects my sleeping which results in me having sleep deprivation which affects me looking not only after myself going to work and looking after my husband and children but makes me depressed I have in the past come in to ask for help and especially from my previous Doctor surgery and the last Doctor here been helped always however after feeling like I was going crazy after being up for 3 nights without sleep i came in spoke to the GP and was told that basically there is nothing that they can help me with and I said well in these situations as should be seen from my medical notes I am prescribed sleeping tablets to help me because if i can't get sleep i end up in a bad way 10 years ago i ended up with a mental breakdown because i was sleep deprived however this doctor said that i wouldn't be able to be prescribed any because they are addictive I couldn't believe what i was being told i was made to feel like i was a heroin addict or something also the doctor cut down my anti anxiety medication without even informing me first which i have been on without abusing it i only take it on a need basis for emergencies and if i didn't have that medication which i picked up on the day then i wouldn't have been able to have got asleep that night because there was nothing else i had to help i think
GP needs to remember that i was given prescribed these medications from a Psychiatrist who is a trained Doctor in this field of work and there is a line that i think shouldn't be crossed when they are not trained in mental health yet however the Doctor was saying they could prescribe me an antidepressant which can take up to 6 weeks to kick in what good is that for me here and now its ridiculous and doesn't make sense yet i would be taking that medication 1 every night so what is the difference between taking one of them a night to one of a sleeping tablet it just doesn't make sense whatsoever and also i don't appreciate being prescribed a medication that i have had for over 10 years to then just without consultation then having my anti anxiety medication just cut down this has made me ill and now i am of work because of it maybe the GP should understand people with mental health issues are patients too i thought that is what the government and NHS are advocating now that is on par with a physical illness?
