my children’s father was admitted here July 7th 2019 - and put on life support , I’ve had been a patient here many many times over the years on various wards , and tbh not all of these admittances were plain sailing , I have had many complaints to lodge over those years - but hand on heart I cannot fault the staff on critical care at Sandwell . Whether it be the cleaning staff or the consultants both myself , my children and their dad was looked after immensely - everything that could of been some was - and we never once had to beg for information or reasons for decisions - we were informed immediately- unfortunately nothing more could be done and he passed away on the 10th July - we were obviously all distraught- but I know I’m my heart of hearts they fought til the very end . Nothing prepares you to watch someone so young slip away before your eyes - and the sounds and sights I witnessed over those days will be with me forever - but also with me always is the kindness and compassion and respect that all members of staff showed us and him over that period of time -
I won’t put the nurses names but I know they know who they are - my children will always be grateful for the love you shown - which had nothing to do with your medical expertise or how many letters go after your names - it was to do with your heart ❣ - the kind of compassion you cannot l arm the kind of empathy that no amount of training can show - it’s just down to being a decent human being - so once again thank you 🙏🏼 from the bottom of our hearts 🥰 we will be eternally grateful .
"our last four days ??"
