"Not allowed to speak"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Endocrinology

Not listened to.

Blood tests didn't get arranged.

If patients are not listened to then there's zero chance of getting help.

Arrogant Doctor who just speaks over the top of you.

Had no choice but to go elsewhere and tests that should have been done then ended up delayed by another few months.

Results clearly show my concerns were real. This is clearly just somewhere for diabetes.

Anything more complicated is beyond them!

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, please firstly let me apologise for the delay in responding to you on here. I was very sorry to read about your experience in Endocrinology, where you found the doctor to be arrogant, meaning you didn't feel listened to. This is certainly not how we would like any of our patients to feel.

We would really like to look into these particular events for you; if you would be happy for us to do so or if there are any other concerns we can help to resolve for you please contact our Patient and Family Experience (Complaints) team by leaving a message on 01872 252793 or email rcht.patientexperience@nhs.net. Once we have received your details, a Case Worker will get back to you within 3-5 working days to discuss your concerns with you. They can then liaise directly with the service you are referring to and ensure that your experience is investigated.

In the meantime, I will share your comments with the Endocrinology Department so they can reflect on your experience and implement changes to ensure that this does not happen again.

Best wishes,

Jess
