We were overwhelmed by the standard of care and support that we received from the midwives anaesthetists and consultants at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness when my wife gave birth to our little girl.
This was our first baby and my wife had to be induced by drip. Over 16 hours of contractions followed as two epidurals were attempted and did not work properly. In the end the decision to carry out a spinal was taken and our little girl arrived safely.
Had we not felt in such good hands with the staff on duty, the day probably would have been terrifying. But the team were so good at their job that we felt reassured every step of the way that everything was going to be fine - which it was! We can't speak highly enough of them.
Unfortunately we cannot remember everyone's names but we can remember Mairi, Gaye, Emily, Yvonne, Maggie and Aileen. Apologies for any misspellings!
Thank you all so much, we couldn't be more grateful.
