A surgery who have gone out of their way to support me.
I would like to commend all the doctors I have seen since 2014, but particularly in the last 18 months. I chose to have private bariatric surgery in 2014 and when that did agree with me I paid for a band to bypass conversion, in Taunton. Very quickly after this I became severely ill and was coughing up blood and struggling to breathe etc. My private surgeon moved me over to the Musgrove Park hospital, in Taunton, as an NHS patient. . None of my issues had been forwarded to my Doctor at Hathaway and a particular doctor put it upon them self to find out what on earth was going on and get information forwarded to Hathaway. I was told me that, whenever possible, to ensure I saw them, as my issues were complex and could be life threatening as I was suffering aspirational pneumonia over and over again and with the time restraints it would have taken ages to explain what was going on to a new Dr. I have had 4 stomach surgeries in the last 18 months, the last being open surgery on the 29th July 2019. I came out of hospital with aspirational pneumonia again and have received two home visits as I was unable to make it to the surgery. I received a call only this morning from a doctor at the surgery to see how I was getting on and to get me in for blood tests in a few weeks. The care, from reception to doctor has been outstanding and, in my case, a possible life saver.
