I had a cataract operation at Stockport one year ago. Complications left me with a missing lens and a detached retina which was urgently treated at Manchester. I recovered well but am still without a lens in the eye. I had a pre-op for lens replacement at Manchester on May 21st 2019 and all appeared to be satisfactory but from that time contact with the hospital has been very difficult with consultant's secretary not being available. After 3 months patiently waiting I still have no idea when the new lens will be inserted. When I was eventually ablr to speak to the secretary two weeks ago I was told that the consultant was not at the hospital at the time and that the lens would need to be ordered from Germany. So what has been happening for the last 3 months?. With no information we have not been able to plan our lives for the summer or for the future. Let us hope that the lens arrives before Brexit!
"Excellent attention but long delays and poor..."
