About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was admitting on Wednesday 21st, I had severe pain in my lower back. Although I was waiting for surgery it was cancelled for the Wednesday night that I arrived, the staff made me as comfortable as they could. I was nil by mouth quite often because they wanted to fit me in for surgery, as it happened I was eventually operated on Saturday. If I had known then what I know now I would not have waited so long. I had surgery on Saturday and was home on Sunday. I’m now home doing active recovery as ordered by the surgeon. The whole team that work on the Durban ward were fantastic, they were kind and helpful, even when I returned to the ward after surgery (a cranky horror) they did all they could to help me,I did apologise for my crankyness but it was like water off a ducks back. All in all I take my hat off to them as they were all fantastic. Thank you all.
