About: Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

Have attended accident and emergency three times with different family members In the last few years the most recent being on 12th of July 2019.

On each of these occasions and at every point through the journey not one of the nurses said Hi my name is .... . One of the nurses even took bloods without explaining what they were doing.

Issues of basic courtesy and consent that need to be addressed.

All the doctors however did introduce themselves and explained what was happening and the treatment for the condition was excellent. Pity that somethings so simple and basic let you down

We are sorry that you have had cause to raise concern about the nurses communication with you. We have forwarded your comments to the senior team to address with the nursing staff as appropriate.

Your kind words about the doctors is also noted and will be shared as appropriate.
