My daughter was involved in a road traffic accident on 24th July and taken to LGI by ambulance.
I was very impressed by all the staff that we encountered during a really unpleasant day from our initial contact in Reception, the Paramedics who checked back with my daughter after they had brought her in, all the doctors and nurses and it is a shame I am not permitted to name the exceptional Matron on duty that morning.
We were waiting outside my daughters cubicle and had the opportunity to see her check that every single member of staff on that unit were coping ok and update herself on each patient they were caring for.
She approached us as relatives to make sure we were ok and it was so reassuring to know that when we most needed it this lady totally took control of the situation.
The unit was very busy while we were there and to those who seem incapable of talking about the NHS without criticism they really should witness the calm, dedicated professionalism of the NHS at its very best.
Cannot thank enough everyone who helped us that day.
