"Delivering my baby"

About: University College Hospital Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing / Maternity

(as a service user),

Birth plan in the birth centre but we’re sent to first floor because of my high pulse. We were offered amazing support. Sometimes there was uncertainty because the bed use would be full.

I am a member of the senior leadership team within maternity, spending half my time working clinically and the other half researching ways to improve maternity services.

Thank you for sharing your story with us. Sometimes birthplans need to be adjusted because of medical risks, as it happened on this occasion, and I am pleased that you had amazing support despite the change in plans. We are sorry if there was some uncertainty at times because of capacity issues, and hope these were not too concerning at the time. We wish you well with your new baby, and will pass your comments onto our team.

Many thanks
