"Patient Feedback"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Urology

(as the patient),

At a recent appointment I was offered a card to fill in which asked how likely I was to recommend the service to a friend or relative.

The little team is wonderful and if I had a friend or relative who REALLY REALLY wanted to have a camera stuck up their dick without anaesthetic, I would recommend them like a shot, but I don't (though I have some doubts about one guy).

What group of people thought this was an appropriate question to ask in a medical context??

(A lifetime in market research speaking here)

Thanks for your comments about our Friends and Family test feedback cards Eric. I’m sorry if we didn’t make it clear why you were asked to complete one of the feedback cards. It’s really important to us that we seek feedback from patients on their experience in our care so that we can share feedback with our staff and make improvements where this is needed. The feedback relates to patients’ overall experience and if they would recommend the service to their friends and family, as opposed to the procedure they came into hospital for. We appreciate that procedures can be unpleasant but these experiences can be made more comfortable when patients are treated by friendly and informative staff in a calming environment. You can read more about the Friends and Family test by visiting www.england.nhs.uk/fft/.

All the best
