"I had great confidence in this member of staff"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Paediatric Eye Clinic

(as a parent/guardian),

Attended for a review appointment with my 2 year old who has an intermittent squint.   Just wanted to say that the optometrist (Jane/Jen? ) that we saw today had a really great way with my son pUtting him at ease and using interests of his to engage with the assessments.   She also was excellent at explaining to me the parent why and what she was doing at every point.   At the end she recapped her findings and so I left knowing exactly what was happening and the future plan.   This is member of staff is a great asset to the children’s hospital as has a great manner with the children but also very good at explaining to the parents.   I had great confidence in this member of staff.

Dear SGGG

Thank you very much for taking the time to feedback about your experiences with the optometrist when you attended with your son for his squint. It is very difficult to get a 2yr old to sit still for anything let alone an eye examination but it sounds like she did a fabulous job.

I will endeavour to find out who the optometrist was that you saw and ensure that she receives a copy of your feedback
