"Poor communication with patients!"

About: Dr Nr Pulman's Practice

Having read the last CQC report I feel that this surgery has become a little complacent. As a working individual it is difficult getting back from Leicester at the end of the day to get back to Coalville where Long Lane Surgery is based, so reliance on longer opening hours for appointments or to hand in requests for repeat prescriptions is essential, including Saturdays! Today, 10 Aug 19 I went to hand in my request for a repeat prescription (as I do every month on a Sat) only to be confronted with a closed surgery and notice that you are closing your Saturday service from the 1 Aug 19. This form of communication is not acceptable and after checking both NHS website and the Long Lane Surgery Website I could not find any indication or information about this. All we ask is that you provide timely communication to all of your patients so that people are informed and can make alternative arrangements. I for one do not wish to use the online system (having had a poor service from it in the past) and now am going to lose money having to take time out from my working day to get to the practice to hand in a repeat prescription following the recent changes by CCG - and that's another issue! Please do not respond with rhetoric but start thinking about your patients who do not visit you that often because they do not want to bother you with their ailments and only want their repeat prescriptions. I am not leaving my name for fear of being dismissed from the surgery, the Drs have provided a great service, it is just a shame that the administration and decision making is poor; clear timely appropriate communication is important! Please review your last CQC report!

Thank you for your feed back.

I do agree that our decision could have been advertised more widely, and I do apologies for that.

We will take note for any further changes going forwards.

The online platform is a great way to order your prescriptions if you would like to give it another try, certainly for patients like yourself who are time pressured, I would be happy to give you your log in details again if you wish, and pleased be assured that constructive feedback would never result in removal from our lists, we welcome it as it helps us to improve, thank you
