"Knee Replacement surgery 24th June 2019"

I chose Barlborough treatment Centre for my knee replacement because in 2010 I had a very successful hip replacement which was an excellent experience.

I am very pleased to say that the quality of service is even better because of improved medical and administration systems.

My appointment to be accessed came within 3 weeks of the referral by my Doctor.

I was told it would take about 4 hours and in that time I had all the necessary checks needed before my surgery and was seen by the surgeon who operated on me.

The date set for the operation was arranged for a time suitable to me as I was going on holiday.

Everything went to plan I returned from holiday on 19th June and the date arranged was on 24th June to arrive at 6.30 am.

I had to have an extra xray on the day and at 10 am I was taken to the theatre.

I was able to decide that I wanted to sleep through the whole thing.

I had excellent care by all the staff and the surgeon visited me on the ward afterwards to ensure that I was okay.

The choice of food was very good.

I was out of bed on the same day using a walking frame, the next day I was visited by the physiotherapist and instructed how to use crutches.

Pain management was very good but much more painful than the hip operation.

On day three I had to walk up and down stairs and then I could return home.

I had an appointment after three weeks to see the physiotherapist and again after 6 weeks when I was signed off.

I am delighted with the results and although surprised at how tired I fee, l am getting my life back in order much quicker than I expected.

I want to thank everyone at Barlborough for their care and attention to detail which made my stay a very pleasant one.

I recommend it to everyone and many of my friends have taken my advice and booked in at Barlborough.
