I was referred for a total knee replacement in January 2019 after severe pain following a cinema visit involving a short walk from the parking area. I was then assessed shortly afterwards by a physiotherapist and saw a consultant at the end of May, then attending a pre-op appointment and lecture at the beginning of July, when I was told surgery should take place within eight weeks. Then I was offered the operation on 16 July, as the hospital had received a cancellation.
From beginning to end, my care in Ward 12B was absolutely first-rate, on the NHS, and could not have been bettered in any private hospital anywhere. I am very grateful to all the staff involved, from the kind people in the ward right up to the top-notch consultant, and I am now convalescing at home, where I am very comfortable. Thank you most sincerely to all concerned.
