"First time Mum review"

About: University Hospital (Coventry) / Maternity

I was full term + 12 days so had an appointment to be induced on Monday 29th July. Our beautiful little girl finally arrived on Thursday 1st August through an emergency C section. I can honestly say that every step along the way the care was exemplary. From the midwives on ward 24/25, 2 very special midwives on the labour ward and the surgeons/consultants who helped bring our little one into the world safely I will be forever grateful. The Healthcare assistants on the wards were amazing too and nothing was too much trouble. They eased your worries and were there to answer any question never making you feel silly or like you were wasting their time. They truly are a phenomenal group of people who made a very traumatic experience bearable and their care was outstanding. You were treated with the upmost respect and dignity. I regularly saw staff continuing into the next shift to make sure the hand over went smoothly and all patients were dealt with well. These people are very special individuals and deserve to be recognised for the great job they do. Especially sometimes in very busy wards where midwives and other members of staff are pushed to the limits and run off their feet. Thank you!
