My mum was treated by Hairmyres CCU staff after suffering a massive heart attack on her 72nd birthday in May. The doctors spoke to us every step of the way, and went above and beyond to ensure they made us understand what was happening. We nearly lost her several times, and although they felt she was too unwell to resuscitate if it came to it, they spent hours by her bedside bringing her oxygen levels up and getting her stats to a level that would eventually save her life in the coming weeks. After seven weeks between hairmyres, and crosshouse, she eventually got home. This was down to the doctors, and nurses at Hairmyres. I will be forever grateful. Thanks also for the use of the family room, you will never know how much that small gesture helped a family in crisis xxx
