I had a call today and was offered online CBT. I said I’d prefer to see an actual person as it would be more beneficial for me, I was then told the waiting time is 6-9 months. Disgusting and outrageous. If you can afford to, save yourself and go private. From past experience with Healthy Minds via NHS I was easily dismissed after 1 session with a bish bash bosh approach. If you want to help people with mental illness, then help them in an appropriate time!

I am sorry that you are so upset by the waiting time for face to face therapy.

The IAPT services provides Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a number of ways, and face to face therapy has the longest waiting times due to the demand.
