"Maintaining privacy"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

(as a service user),

Had a CTC scan

Radiographers - Excellent.

Felt however the assistant/cleaner coming in while I was still connected to machines was uncomfortable. My privacy I felt was violated.

Radiographers upheld high standards and maintained my privacy

Dear matarts85,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, I was pleased to read that the Radiographers you saw were excellent, upholding high standards. I am sorry to see however, that you felt your privacy was violated because of an assistant/cleaner that came in whilst having your procedure. This isn't that we would expect for any of our patients. To this end, if you would like to raise your concerns with our Patient and Family Experience Team, you can do so by calling us on 01872 252793 or email us rcht.patientexperience@nhs.net. In the meantime, I will share your story with Mitie, our service provider for cleaning etc, so they can reflect on your experience and of course, the Radiographers, so they can read your kind comments.

Dear matarts85,

We are very sorry to hear that you have had a poor experience while at Treliske. Please be assured that Mitie take any incidences such as this seriously and should you feel able to give the Patient and Family Experience team a little more information we will gladly find out what happened.

All of our Mitie staff are given mandatory training with an annual refresher, and one of sections of the training refers to the need to maintain the dignity and privacy of the patient. I am sorry that you felt this was not the case for you.
