"care and attention"

About: Kilbryde Hospice

(as a relative),

My mum was fortunate to be given a bed in the Hospice during the final weeks of her life. She had came up through day services and was adamant that the Hospice was the place for her. It was for us all a wonderfully calm, caring, yet happy environment. The care she received was excellent. She was never left alone, there was always someone there to give her support or just a bit of a giggle. My mum loved everyone she saw on a day to day basis. She was a sociable person and although she was frightened, the staff made her feel loved and to her family this was the biggest relief. The staff looked after us too and this will never be forgotten. They are incredibly special people who made one of the saddest moments in our life just about bearable. Mum wanted for nothing.

We, as a family will not forget the Hospice and their staff, from volunteers to reception staff to nurses and consultants, everyone worked as a team for their patients. A big thank you to the Chef, mum didn't have much of an appetite but she ate more in the hospice than at home.

Thank you all

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredibly kind words and positive feedback of your Mum’s care here at Kilbryde Hospice.

You talk of so many of our staff in different departments and this highlights the team ethos of Kilbryde Hospice. Our Chef will be delighted that there was something tempting on the menu for your Mum.

Having supported your Mum in our Day Services, it was a privilege to be able to care for her here in the In-Patient Unit in a calm, caring and happy environment, especially as it was your Mum’s wish.

As Deputy Clinical Lead Nurse in the In-Patient Unit, it is so reassuring to know that you believe the staff here were able to help ease your Mum’s fear by spending time with her and making her feel loved. Hearing her having a giggle with them was just lovely too! I am so pleased that you felt looked after and supported which helped enable you to cope during this very difficult time.

With many thanks,

Rosie
