I attended my GP as I was feeling very low and depressed. My GP said I required to be seen by the mental health team. My GP Dr Kennedy from racecourse road surgery has been excellent and very supportive to me and my family. I got an appointment review and attended.
The person I seen was nice and asked me some questions and said at next appointment would give me more information. I got an appointment but had to cancel this as I was working. They said would get back in touch with another appointment. I have been phoning frequently to try and reschedule. I spoke to the receptionist each time and was told that the nurse wasn’t there or in at clinics. The receptionist took my number and said they would phone me back. They say they have called me however I have not received any call. I have full list of numbers to me.
I phoned again on Thursday and I was told again the nurse was busy. They then phoned me back later that day and said that they were discharging me as they had been unable to get me. They said they had discharged me two weeks before. I find this unacceptable as I have been phoning all the time to get an appointment. I said I hadn’t received these calls and asked what number they had phoned. I was told my mobile. I had not received these calls and my phone company can confirm this.
I have been feeling really low and at times have felt I can’t go on. I desperately need mental health input. I feel my moods fluctuate so much and I take this out on my family. I don’t want to be like this and want help. I think it is wrong that I have not been given an other appointment despite all my efforts. I have managed to get my GP to call me on Wednesday as I feel I need some sort of help.
