"Problem with my left eye"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

My GP refered me to a Consultant Opthamologist at Boston Hospital Eye Department.

I waited 2 hours to see the Consultant, and was told nothing can be done other than to continue taking my eye drops as I have done for the past 10yrs because of my Horners eye Syndrome which was due to a previous accident Head Injury.

Because I am Retired on a low Income I asked the Consultant to write me a prescription for the eye Drops that are costing me each month.

I was told they could not write me a prescription, but they would write to my GP who would give me a repeat prescription in about 2 weeks.

I have just returned from the GP Surgery where I was told they have received nothing from the Hospital Consultant.

Explaining I would have to try and find out what is going on.

Hence why I am writing this today.

Yours Sincerely

Thank you for sharing your story with us. We're sorry that your GP has not received the outcome letter for your clinic appointment with the consultant.

We would like to get this resolved for you and ask that you contact our PALS team at Pilgrim. The team will be able to liaise with the consultant's medical secretary on the status of your letter and then let you know. The team can be contacted either via email PALS@ulh.nhs.uk or by phone 01205 446243.
