"Excellent care."

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Emergency department

I was delivered by taxi on Thursday afternoon, 25th July 2019, to the A and E department which was already quite busy but was able to book in with minimal delay. I had been referred here from Ripley Hospital after having a fall and sustaining a dislocated elbow with quite profuse bleeding. The delay before being seen by medical staff was minimal and quite acceptable. From hereon, the care I received was first rate and carried out with reassurance and with compassion. Had my injury not been so painful, I could almost say that I enjoyed the experience due to the good humour and attention of the staff. Once treatment commenced, the pain relief given was very effective and my dislocation was corrected with no discomfort whatsoever and very promptly. I had no after effects of anaesthetic and after a follow-up x-ray was soon allowed to leave with a further appointment for next morning. To conclude, I found the staff very helpful and caring and feel I could not have received better care anywhere, so my sincere thanks and appreciation to all.
