I was welcomed to ward 2C my the most kind and soft spoken nurse, who made me feel comfortable and at ease (I’m so sorry, I can’t remember your name!)
My care was taken over by a nurse who made me nervous and made me feel a little anxious!! I got the feeling they didn’t want to be at work and had a bit of an I don’t care attitude.
Post op, they still hard spoken, I was upset and felt grotty from medications etc, this nurse showed no empathy or compassion and it made me more upset. They left and went home for the evening.
I slept as well as could be expected and was greeted with the same nurse in the morning, who insisted I got up for a wash and then sit in my chair again with a harsh and rushed manner. I had to wait 2 hours for my lift to come for me. I felt horrendous and was continually told I’d be fine. They never took time to chat to me or reassure me. I felt hopeless!
5 days on I still feel tender and sore, I called the ward for some advice and was told to phone my GP in the morning or if I was that concerned to go to A & E. The nurse lacked care, compassion and empathy. Their communication skills and tone were off.
I’ve not been impressed by the staff this hospital at all.
