R D & E Wonford treated my Dad for the last 16 years, mainly on Creedy ward but also intensive care a few times too.
The Doctors and nurses on Creedy became our 2nd family and we, as well as Dad felt so comfortable there.
Nothing was too much trouble, his care was outstanding, the Doctors were always so honest with him and us and we were in no doubt how things stood at all times.
They always acted with extreme care, dignity and were always so welcoming and friendly to all of us whenever we visited. My Dad was known to everyone on the ward very well and they would miss him when he wasn't there (which wasn't much!!).
The dietician was extremely good with Dad and had been known to go to the shop to get him whatever he fancied just so he could eat what he wanted (although he always said the hospital food was good).
Dad classed him as a good friend and they would have many chats together.
As the nurses started and finished their shifts, they would always wave to Dad and say morning or good night.
He knew so much about them all, he was always chatting to someone!
This was lovely as it kept his mind off his own life threatening problems. They really are a great team on Creedy, every one of them made our visits that little bit better given the reasons we were in there.
Unfortunately for Dad, and us, he passed away peacefully in January on Creedy ward.
At his funeral, we collected solely for Creedy ward, so the staff could buy anything they wanted on the ward that would make their working days a little better.
This was just a very small token of the massive amount of appreciation we have for them.
Thank you so much from all of us.
I do hope this gets passed onto the team on Creedy.
"Thank you so much"
