I was a little apprehensive about my visit to hospital for my ‘procedure’, but as soon as I entered the building that apprehension dissipated with the relaxed, professional manner of the receptionist. It felt more like booking in to a hotel! Fantastic!
I was shown to ‘my’ room (24A) and I was made to feel ‘at home’ immediately.
I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the care and treatment I was given by ALL the staff in the unit.
Huge smiles from the staff makes a patient feel much more relaxed - certainly this one!
The nurse who I was 'assigned ' to had the most perfect bedside manner and was so professional and caring. Magnificent! A modern Florence Nightingale! I felt like I was treated with the utmost dignity at all times.
The anaesthetists were so laid back and friendly (but professional), it made me feel calm, too!
Finally, the physiotherapist. Patience personified. He never rushed anyone and seemed to genuinely care for everyone in the unit. A wonderful attribute to have.
I cannot yet comment on the success of my operation, but I am presently two weeks post operation and improving day by day. The consultant has been both highly professional and friendly at all times, whilst allaying any fears I had prior to the procedure.
In summing up, I can honestly state that the service I received made me feel very humble.
I must also say how very proud I feel to live in a country with what I believe, is one of the best health services in the world.
Once again, many thanks to you all.
"Magnificent service"
