I had been referred for an ultrasound following pain and difficulty in urinating. There was a short time between being referred and receiving the appointment.
The department was easy to find. I had been a bit worried about appointments running late as I had been told to make sure I had a full bladder, and didn't want to need to pee as appointments were running 15 minutes late. Everything was on time and the staff were quick and efficient (which was much appreciated, as I had drank 1.5 litres in the last 3 hours and not been to the toilet once!), the process was very quick and I was told I'd get my results in a couple of weeks.
I phoned my local GP after 2 and a half weeks, who said it normally took longer than 2 weeks and I shouldn't really have been told 2 weeks as they'd expect it to take longer, they checked and the results were already in, so they had managed expectations well in providing the current timeframe for results to be delivered.
Each step of the process was very prompt, from recieving the appointment notification, the length of wait to my appointment, my appointment on the day, to recieving my results.
