I was admitted to Crosshouse Hospital, Orthopaedics ward 2b during April 2019 to have a bilateral full hip replacement surgery.
All of the staff within this ward were professional and caring and during my weeks stay in this ward I received the best care. The ward was always kept clean and the hospital menu/food was very good.
On the morning of my surgery, I felt assured that I had a fantastic Surgeon, Mr. Holt performing my surgery. He was very professional, caring and understanding. He understood on a previous appointment that I had very limited movement, and I was in extreme pain and it was having a detrimental effect on my quality of life. I am a woman in my early 40’s with my own business and a young child and I had been trying to conserve my hips for years whilst taking strong prescription medication.
I am so very grateful to Mr. Holt and his surgical team for successfully performing you bilateral hip surgery. One of my hips were no better than the other one and Mr. Holt understood my request and need to get surgery on both hips at the same time so I could get on with my life and hopefully recover quicker.
Due to my Surgeon’s amazing expertise in his field, he has totally improved my quality of life. I was walking without crutches and back at work within 8 weeks. I am pain free, with no need to take any medication. I also have movement that I have not had for many years. I walk now without a gait and have no leg discrepancy.
This surgery for me has been life changing. I am absolutely delighted and can’t thank Mr. Holt and all staff enough.
I am also very grateful to a lovely Physiotherapist, Joyce, of Crosshouse hospital. She has been beneficial in my speedy recovery after my surgery. She has been patient and caring and her knowledge in her profession has ensured that I’m making positive progress in every appointment with her.
