Arrived in A&E about 6.30pm with drug overdose. Waited 2 hours for blood test. no advice given.Told to come back at 10pm for second blood test. Went home for an hour because of stress and tiredness. Came back before 10pm and was told off for leaving. Told blood test needed to be done at 10 precisely but they did not do it until about 10.45. Told to wait but no information why. Asked why at 11 pm and was told we would see doctor in 50 minutes. Instead we then waited at least 2 and half hours to see doctorfor 5 odd minutes consultation. Doctor was nice and asked if we wanted to see psych team who would have to be phoned and we said we were too tired to wait any longer. Given a phone number to ring. When we rang it next day a voice mail said it was busy with other people and then cut us off. Total time waiting over 6 hours.for minimum help. Nurses were unhelpful and dismissive although we were very polite.
Doctor said if suicidal feelings go to A&E. Why would we do that after such poor care? You really need to take mental health more seriously.
