"Excellent service and care"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Accident and emergency Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Cardiology The Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Early in July I was transferred from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Kings Lynn  after I suffered a Heart Attack in their A+E Department, to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for emergency treatment. Along with their excellent care I was met on arrival in the ambulance bay by your team from the PPCI Centre. What I then experienced was the NHS at its best, I was taken straight through to theatre and though a frightening experience the team reassured me and talked me through the procedure.   I was shown the greatest respect and compassion by all involved, this high standard of care and respect was continued after the procedure by all staff in the high dependency unit and Kilverston ward on CCU, this also includes the domestic and administration staff. Thank you does not seem enough, but I will remain ever grateful to all concerned. I am well on the road to recovery. Excellent service and care.

Thank you for telling us about your recent treatment by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital team as well as your experiences at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. I am pleased to hear that at such a worrying time you were treated so well by the ambulance team and hospital staff at both organisations. I will share your comments with the team in A&E as I am sure that they will be pleased to hear that your whole time under the care of the NHS in relation to your heart attack was such a positive one under frightening circumstances. It is good to read that you are now well on the road to recovery, I wish you continued progress back to good health.
