"I will miss them"

About: Borders General Hospital / Physiotherapy Borders General Hospital / Stroke Unit

(as a service user),

In February I was admitted to hospital. Having had a stroke which affected my left side and a few days later I had another one. The care I got from all hospital staff was very good and the physios were really good and helped me to get back home after twelve weeks with the help of a quad stake plus someone at my side helping me.

I was offered hospital to home physio which helped me greatly to get more confidence in myself an achieve my aim to getting down the garden path and into my garden shed. Well done to them as I am now able to do this. All the physios were very good and cheerful, always had a nice word and I was most grateful for all the help and consideration that was given to me.

I will miss them but I am sure that I have made friends with some off them and I am sure they will look in from time to time.

Thanks a million.

Thank you for your feedback on the care you received from Hospital to Home following your Stroke. The team is a new concept within the Borders locality and we greatly value feedback from service users as a way of improving and developing the service. Our physiotherapist was delighted to hear that your confidence grew over the time of the visits and you achieved your personal goal. It is also important that we work closely with our acute clinicians to enable improvements within the patients own home, this has been clearly shown in your experience.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your kind works which have been fed back to the team and wish you continued improvements in your recovery.

Kind Regards,

Caroline Burgess
