"Queens 2 Ward ignored her requests for food and water"

About: Croydon University Hospital

(as a relative),

My 70 year old mother was sent to Queens 2 Ward at 7pm following surgery.   She hadn't eaten since 5. 30am (doctor's orders) and was very hungry and dehydrated.   The nurses on duty completely ignored her requests for food and water.   I had to drive an hour to the hospital, the shop was closed so I had to explore the nearby area and eventually found a Tesco Metro where I could buy her some food and water.   Absolutely disgusting treatment.   If I hadn't gone there myself she wouldn't have had anything to eat or drink until the following day.   I will be making a formal complaint to the hospital.
