"Gynecology"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Gynaecology

I attended gynaecology on Tuesday the 9th of July for a hysteroscopy and saw the doctor when I arrived I received good care from himself and nurses I sat done and he also informed me I'd be having a coil fitted which I wasn't aware of after being talked into it I agreed. Whilst have the procedure he had said to the nurse what is that on the scope she replied looking at me all our equipment is sent away to be cleaned and this is the third scope this morning that's been dirty he proceeded regardless. By this point it was to late because it had already been used on me before the nurse had mentioned it. I'm very disappointed and don't understand how this can happen I'm have to attend my doctor on Friday for antibiotics as I have a infection.

Hi

We apologise profusely for your experience of care that you received at Grantham Hospital. This is not the standard of care we would expect any of our patients to receive at ULHT. Please can you contact the PALS desk at the hospital, so we can take some details so we can fully investigate the incident. Pleased be assured that we do take such feedback very seriously.

They can be contacted either via PAL@ulh.nhs.uk or 01476 464861.

Regards

Penny Snowden

Divisional Head of Family Health
