I have been with this surgery for around ten years and have had some excellent experiences and some downright horrendous experiences. I don’t usually visit for myself but mainly with my daughter who suffers from mild asthma and eczema and a food allergy. I have found certain Receptionists to be rude and arrogant and others friendly and professional. I have found certain doctors to be patronising, superior and very rude and others helpful. For example, I had a disagreement with a female doctor in the past and she was one of the rudest doctors I have ever met. She didn’t expect me to have done my research and was withholding a service due to cost but denying that was so. The doctors need to remember that they provide a service that we all pay for. Having said that, another doctor (whose name I have forgotten) is amazing. He is knowledgeable, personable and very helpful. He also has empathy and he would be my first choice every time, providing I could get an appointment via the ridiculous triage system! I also think communication and efficiency can be an issue with Reception. I do, however, want to thank the surgery for yesterday. I went in with my daughter, close to tears and in a state of panic. My daughter was supposed to go on a school residential that day and because of a problem we needed replacement epipens urgently. The school were refusing my daughter access to the trip without them. I am aware of a National shortage of epipens and I wasn’t due any new epipens usntil September (surgery policy) and I thought the surgery may refuse me the prescription I needed. However, the Receptionist was very kind and showed empathy. She got the prescription and had it signed by a doctor in a couple of minutes. My daughter was able to attend her Residential. I want to say a big thank you to the Receptionist and Doctor involved.
