"Surgery just keeps improving"

I have been a patient for most of this century and I am very happy with the doctors and support staff. In my opinion the personal treatment I receive now is so much better than it was ten years ago. For example when I told a doctor that I was having my sleep disturbed by urgent toilet visits i was told to return when the number of such occasions exceeded six per night. Another doctor berated me for using an ointment for ten years saying it should only have been used for two to three weeks. The doctor concerned not only prescribed the ointment but approved the ongoing issuance of it for the duration involved.Lastly on this aspect I was unable to obtain an NHS hospital appointment for investigative tests for a possibly life threatening condition. I had the test and required immediate treatment. This was done privately and I returned to the surgery with details of my treatment at the private hospital.The GP who recommended that I go private refused to accept any of the medical information on my treatment.

More recently when I told a GP that I had not proceeded to see an NHS specialist because of the delay and had paid for private treatment,

I was asked by the GP to make sure the surgery was given details of the treatment I received.Regular medication reviews never seemed to happen in the past and if they did it was a three minute job. More recently I was very impressed with the GP I saw for this process who went through my medication very thoroughly, indeed i was able to discontinue taking one medicine as a consequence.
